The customer's brief

John Lewis is known for its unique way of doing business, with 30 department stores across the UK it has 70,000 permanent staff who are the share holding partners. John Lewis's success is driven by its partners and its promise to its customers to never be knowingly undersold on quality, on price or on service. This promise has continued to prove popular with households across the UK since the partnership opened its first store in 1933.

John Lewis department stores came to novograf with an idea to create a themed graphic series for their children’s fitting rooms. The illustrated tree height chart and accompanying illustrated birds would become part of the John Lewis visual guidelines and be made available to every appropriate store across the UK.

The novograf solution

From its range of innovative, self manufactured materials novograf was able to create the ideal solution for John Lewis. The stores across the UK may not all have the same type of surfaces to cover however, novograf was able to offer  the same high quality finish regardless of the surface by using lamidec™ and lamigraf™. These two exceptional materials manufactured by novograf can be printed with any graphic or colour, or to replicate any surface and can create the same perfect finish on both sealed or unfinished surfaces.

Both lamigraf™ and lamidec™ are scratch and impact resistant, which will provide John Lewis with graphics that will outlast alternative products and they are PVC free, ensuring John Lewis is doing its best for the environment.

Results

novograf offered its complete service to John Lewis from surveying and project management, through to product specification and installation. Regardless of the stores' locations across the UK, or opening hours, novograf delivered and installed at night to ensure there was no disruption to staff or customers. novograf continues to offer its products and service to John Lewis.
